LEADERS ARE LEARNERS

REVEAL/Follow Me:
Where Are We? What's Next For Us?
Sunday Nights in the Sanctuary.

March 14th and 21st   from 6:30 - 8:00pm

While this began as a discussion for leaders only (a COM gathering), it became apparent that the followers had every right to know what's going on.  So we're just inviting everyone.   We've asked our small group leaders to suspend their activities till after March 21st.  Our next sermon-based series will not begin until April 18th - so there's plenty of time for a break, or potluck, or service projects.

March 14 - REVEAL: Where are we?
No we're not going to share the sins of all our members, . well, I guess it depends on who attends or not!!!    Just teasing, .kinda!

Over the past several years 157,000 church goers from over 500 different churches of all denominations and sizes were interviewed.

Among the many discoveries was something called the "Spiritual Continuum", which has enormous implications for how we do church.   Also some common themes surfaced as to things we believe strongly about and just how successful we are at meeting those needs.   We are going to learn some of the key "catalysts" to growth in a church.

The ultimate goal for us and any church is to move people forward in their spiritual journey from even stagnation to real transformation.  This'll lead us to, sort of, an Easter result . . . for believers.

Many of the discoveries are very helpful, some are very disturbing, but this discussion should help Salem to become a better "Jesus" honoring kind of community.  We'll spend some time going over some of the valuable information we collected from the church this summer as well.

March 21 - FOLLOW ME: What's next for us?
Then we're going to follow up the above discussion with a look at what drives and what derails spiritual growth.   And you might be interested to see in greater detail what is more important, and what becomes less important to people as they continue to grow spiritually.  Finally, we'll do a little brainstorming together to figure out how we can help more people to grow more deeply in their faith walk.  We'll also take a look at some of Salem's weaknesses and how we can do a better job with the resources God has given to us.

You will need a notebook, if you are coming.  Because there isn't anyway that you are going to be able write down everything you're going to learn.

Come for the presentation, come for the dialogue, members and non-members are welcome.   But please sign up by Monday March 8th. There will be notes for this so you'll need to sign up in advance.  SIGN UP HERE

HELP WANTED:

Prayer Challenge:

For those who like a good challenge and believe that the church can make a positive impact in it's community.  Then pray two things:

1.  that 10 non-churched people living in our community will be led to Salem this Sunday

2.  That all the "Jesus led" churches in our community will be blessed this coming weekend.

Consider making this part of you noon-time prayer just before lunch.   We are expecting miracles to happen at Salem in the Greater Cincinnati Area.  Please be part of it.

INSPIRATION

Sunday
Everything Jesus said and did, we're going to summarize it in just ten mega truths.  Ten mega themes.  Ten values.  On Sunday morning you are going to get the Cliff Notes on the life of Jesus Christ.  This is the ten things that Jesus did in His life that He wants you to do in your life, which is how you should live in this world.  You'll probably be amazed at how counter cultural they are.
