Getting Straight in the Morning!
Psalms 5:3 (TLB)
Each morning I will look to You in heaven and lay my
requests before You, praying earnestly.
I know that everybody
believes in prayer. But why do most of us struggle with making a
devoted time everyday to do it. Sure we pray “on the fly” or when
we want something. But Jesus regularly got away from his busy
life to just pray.
Mark 1:35 (NIV)
Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus
got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he
prayed. |

What if Prayer Could Really Work?
Now most of us know that
pray changes things, … it changes us,… it can literally move
mountains. Yet we struggle to make it a dedicated habit during
the week (except for mealtime, maybe).
All the best times in my
life were always preceded by concentrated prayer. Huge things
have always followed prayer. In fact, I prefer the praying that
comes “before a miracle” as opposed to “after a tragedy”. So why
don’t I do that more? |

I
Don't Want To Be Alone
For me, I do it better in
community. The problem is that getting people to actually sit
down and pray together for an hour has been like pulling teeth.
Everyone knows they should do it – but we just can’t find that
magic time slot. So what if I told you we could shorten the
prayer time, do it daily, and you could do it on the phone. Or
just listen in and agree with all the others. |

Monday Prayer At Salem
Currently we’ve got a very
powerful Monday Prayer group that meets at the church. And major
miracles have resulted from that little bunch of saints. In
fact, I mean MAJOR INCREDIBLE MIRACLES have come from our time of
intercession together. We are going to keep that Monday thing
happening. And we now have some very important prayer partners
praying on Sunday morning during the services – which has made a
very noticeable difference. But the Lord has impressed on me that
those of you who can’t make the Monday gig, or haven’t tried the
Sunday morning prayer thing – that you need another opportunity to
enjoy the power of prayer. |

Telephone Prayer Conferences
If I could set up a
telephone conference line that bunches of people could call into
for free - we could all pray together over the phone while one
person rests in bed, another sips their coffee, or someone might
be riding the bus to work. This way there could be anywhere
from five to fifty people praying … everyday…. fifteen minutes (or
whatever time you’ve got to devote). You wouldn’t have to say a
thing – just listen in and agree, or you could jump in there and
pray (while you are putting on your makeup).

Online Survey
Here’s what I know – the
more of us who make this a spiritual habit in our lives the better
life is going to be (regardless of the economy or whatever).
Here’s what I need to know, I’ve set up a questionnaire online.
I need to know a) would you be remotely interested in trying this
out for a week; b) if you did, what would be the best hour for
you, if you were to just try it out.
Would you please take a
moment (1 minute)
to respond. Just click on the ONLINE
SURVEY
link. |
